Vegan Condensed Milk Recipe

Condensed milk is one of my family's stable food. We used it in literally anything sweet. From smear on top of a toast to sweetened the tea and coffee. There's is many amazing dairy-free condensed milk out there, but this recipe by far tasted closet to how I imagine the sweetened condensed milk would be.


When comes to making homemade condensed milk, I love using soy milk since it creamy than most of the plant milk. I also made this recipe from soy creamer and it tasted delicious as well but a little too rich for me. Just like the traditional method of making condensed milk, the longer you cook, the more milk will evaporate. You can simply turn this recipe to Dolce de Leche by cook the milk 10-15 minutes longer.



Time: 30 Minutes

Make:1 Cup (8oz)


Ingredients:

2 cups of unsweetened milk soy milk

3/4 cup of sugar

1 teaspoon of vanilla bean paste


Instruction:

  1. Combine the milk and sugar in a saucepan.

  2. Stir consistently and bring the milk to boil.

  3. Stir while the milk is boil for 1 minute.

  4. Reduce the heat and let it steam for 25-30 minutes. *If your heat is too high most of the time, you condensed milk turned to Dolce de Leche. Which is fine in this recipe but keep your eyes on the milk, you don't want to burn it.

  5. Transfer the condensed milk to a clean cup and refrigerate for 10 minutes.
